Not really sure how this teeny bopper knows my husband so well! When I heard this song the first time it struck me that this is the first thing that made me fall in love with Zack. We were young when we started dating, but he was younger. But from day one Zack has known who he is and stood up for his beliefs without being pushy or preachy. I respect that. After about a year of the long distance stuff Zack decided to move to Salt Lake with me. I was sooo excited but a little nervous. The day that he was packing everything and making the migration I went to this movie with my cousins. If you have ever seen this movie you would know why I had the following reaction. Freaking out as we walk to the car, "We are doomed, our relationship has no way of lasting!" Lacey and Alex were great support as they drove me home and I waited for my boyfriend to become my housemate. As we approach our 7th anniversary (from the point of dating) I realize this movie has no precedence on my relationship's success. In fact, maybe the movie has nothing to do with age; maybe it is just a warning as to not date your therapist's son.

I hate to admit this but our first kiss was a dare. I suppose that our union may have never started without it so I have to say, "Thanks, Trent for the Dare." It is January 2005, I was living in Salt Lake and Zack was still in Heber so we started out emailing and such. This picture is the first I ever received from Zack and the joke behind it is not appropriate for this family blog so let you imagination run wild.

my cousin Derek had a best friend that was so shy, but adorable. He came to my house with his hair all crazy and a new piercing monthly; I am awed by his skills. I am the older cousin that Derek and his friends flocked to when I visited from wherever I was adventuring. From 1999-2005 St.George, Oregon, and Salt Lake were my major homesteads yet, I could never completely leave "Good Ol' Heber."

Throughout my teen years I was told to leave this adorable boy alone..."He is way to young for you," they would say and I agreed. When he was in the realm of old enough I was still told to leave him alone, and I tried. But when this adorable boy got over his shyness and he pursued me I lost my head. I was recovering from the worst break-up ever and wanted nothing to do with guys; but I had and have never been treated better in my life!

Delving into Two Thousand Twelve

Many changes with the new year....new blog title, first REAL marriage anniversary, and the attempt at updating our mobile home in the hopes of selling it.
First, my blog was once deemed "Under Construction" which I personally am however, I feel that I have outgrown this title. I am moving into the "Eo Ipso" stage of life. Which, for those that do not know the meaning: "by (or from) the thing itself" in Latin. My life is wonderful and I am constantly growing as a person, but I have come to an extremely grand realization; no matter how many successes or failures in life I will always be with myself, so I better appreciate.
Since this is the year of my first REAL anniversary I am going to do some reminicing about mine and my mister's history. By REAL, I mean that we were married on February 29, 2008. Leap year is intriguing and wonderous, almost exactly like our relationship. I hope that you will follow me on this year's journey as I "DELVE INTO '12!"

With 23 days left I have to address Zack's addiction to comic books...with this literally being his only vice, how can I say no? This pic is of a new comic that I think is going to be amazing...and even if it is not the hero has MS, so either way I am a fan.

22 days til x-mas and I knew that I had to get Zack a card to his favorite place in this world....CHIPOTLE! If you haven't tried it then you are missing out however, I don't know if anyone could be as obsessed as Zack.

I am in a bit of a confusing state of mind, with a new sewing machine that I can't put away it has made me overly excited for the holidays! But I have picked up some shifts at Barnes and Noble (since I am still only teaching part time, but things are definitely working out and on the up and up). This, I'll just say, distracts from the spirit, whatever spirit there might be.
However, this post is not all ranting. We had a fabulous Thanksgiving at home. I cooked an entire feast...which I will post pics of because I know some people are going to want evidence. I finished my first jacket for myself, which is totally motivating me to start an etsy and/or consigning my clothes....here comes ATOMIC CHARTREUSE...sometime in the future!
Last night Ashlee and I went to see the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular!! It was fun...a little disappointing as I walked outside to West Valley and not the streets of New York...maybe next year.
And lastly but not least...tomorrow begins the countdown to Christmas. I love doing an advent calendar for my husby and this year Bebop may get in on the action. I thought I would post about the fun this year.

Since I bought my scooter last spring I have been riding it with the plates it came with so I knew I needed to change this. This is the plate I ended up with...I have thought about it a lot. I would be fine if this plate was on my car or on my scooter if I were not obese. As the scooter ridin' season is ending I am coming to terms with it. I am going to miss my Maylene throughout the winter!

I have begun my second year of teaching but I am at West High instead of Northwest Middle School. Which I am thoroughly grateful even though it is not a full time position. Being new is not the best thing but I was flattered when the Red and Black School Newspaper wanted to interview me and take a picture. I thought it would be so funny to get my photo taken with this life size cut out of Fabio that is in the athletic training room, later another student came back and told me he needed a new photo. Which I asked "why?" and he informed me that it was deemed inappropriate. Inappropriate? Why? Fabio is a character that is never seen WITH a shirt? I walk around observing a dress code that is non existent, thus showing everyone TOO much of the student body? I never asked my many questions out loud...I don't want to step on any toes since I am just another new person.
Here's to you Fabio...you are not inappropriate for my blog!

I have to admit that I am not a huge KISS fan but my friend's son (he's 10) is a die hard; in fact, Kellie's entire family was KISS for Halloween last year! So when we found out they were coming to concert I had to go to watch him mostly. That was my thought anyway, but, in reality it was awesome and all I can say is I hope that when I am in my 50's and 60's that I can do half of what these guys did last night! I was impressed!

Some things that are really bugging me!

First, does anyone know how to make the comments on your blog filtered? I am getting numerous comments in languages I don't know how to read! Really starting to bug me!

Myself, there are so many reasons for this: I don't want to bore you and I don't want to cry so I will spare both of us. Really starting to bug me!

The mess I have created in my house: since I have had time off I am thinking that I must de-clutter and feng shui everything, and now I am in a much BIGGER mess! Really starting to bug me!

My garden...this year I really messed something up, and now we have yielded um...3 baby tomatoes, a handful of peas, and some pathetic little carrots!

However, there is a silver lining...I have an amazing husband and the best dog in the world, and they are strong! We will make it!

Bebop, my pug, has got a mind of his own so he has decided to start his own DLOG. What is a dlog you ask? Well that is what I wondered when he mentioned it and this is what he said, "Humans are in a complete blogging fad and I felt the need to join in. A DLOG is similar to a blog except it is from the most superior perspective...a dog's! This particular dlog is flowing from my perspective...a canine, a pug named Bebop!"

Zack has a list of 'To Dos' for the summer and since he had the weekend off we decided to start checking them off. So at around 1am on Saturday we set out to Target so he could skate over the red ball and through the cement circle. Me, being the scaredy chicken I am didn't want to watch but, I didn't want him to go alone either. This is me incognito, so I could record his sess and keep a lookout for the po..lice. I know this skirt may not make the best sleuth outfit!

So this skate sess has been in the making for a bit...mostly because I hate HATE HATE watching the inevitable crashes!

But this is why I love it!! He is too sexy when he lands it!

my husband has told me that deja vu means you are doing exactly what you are suppose to be doing at exactly the right time. And no, I have not had a ton of deja vu in my life lately however...there are numerous things that are going on that make me feel in the middle, and right where I am suppose to be.

I am again in the middle of a road...I am feeling torn, among other things. This picture was taken prior to going to a friend's wedding, which ended up being an uncomfortable space. There were numerous reasons for this, one being my current self esteem and two; a form of "flattery" as others have told me in the decor of said wedding. Needless to say, I was experiencing many feelings.
I am quickly approaching the end of my contact at the school I am teaching and I have many feelings about whether or not I would like to continue working at this school if I was given the option. And if I am not then I must pursue the job hunt once again, which is not an exciting option either.
The upside of this blog is that I am in the middle of a vigorous learning experience that I am not even capable at this point to talk about, but there will be a time that I will be able and willing to talk about it. In fact, I believe that it may change my life!

P.S. I am the most spoiled wife in the world, I will blog more about this later when I have some pictures.

This year was the first annual NWMS Multicultural Show...something that has been done at another middle school in our district for years with great success. I have to admit that this has been one of the scarce positive things that has happened at our school this year, since we are currently in improvement from not passing the CRTs.

I want to apologize for the poor quality of the videos I have included but its the best I have at the moment. The program began with a flag ceremony including all the countries that are represented by our student body (this was nothing short of a tear jerker).

Not that our performance was anything in comparison to the amazing cultural dances that our students participated in but it sure was fun.

After waiting my whole life to be 28 my birthday has come and gone and now I am 29!! For some reason I am even more excited about 29....for a few reasons...
1) I like odd numbers
2) I am just beginning to find and embrace ownership in the body I am in
3) I have found a new mantra, 'In this world there is no force equal to a woman determined to rise.'
4) This year is going to be "potent with opportunities for creativity and growth."
5) My husband rewards me with 5 minutes of uninterrupted eye contact (name that movie)

My new and improved reading nook...this is the latest craigs list find...asking $150 we walked away this awesome chair for $85! Although there are some stains on the seat I couldn't pass up this chair that brings in sheer elegance!

Attempting to let you see one whole wall...but failing a bit, this is the best I could do. You all remember my awesome head board...just don't want anyone to forget it!

As you can see this is becoming Amie's pretty cave but I feel I have compromised since most of our living room is covered with comic book characters.

So a couple of Mondays ago I woke up....actually let me be honest and start from the very beginning. I HATE THE DENTIST!!! When I was young, about 12 years old, and having chemotherapy I was banned from seeing the dentist. Even a cleaning was dangerous due to the risk of getting an infection, thus the beginning of a deep fear of the dentist. I do try to make my 6 month cleanings, brush my teeth daily, and often make it the flossing part (I know, I know this is important). I knew in August that my tooth was hurting but I had just got my teaching job and had to wait a month before my insurance kicked in, by then the pain was gone. And you know how that goes...out of pain, out of mind! Last week I awoke with the most intense pain ever! My mouth, my ear, and my shoulder were all throbbing, I had no idea where the real pain was coming from.
After trying to tough it out my friend Kellie recommended her dentist, Dr. Bliss. Not only was I sold due to the pain but who can deny seeing a dentist named Dr. Bliss!
This meeting was meant be, he is a wonderful dentist! I was informed that I had an infection in a tooth thus hurting my ear and shoulder. This infection was due to the need of a root canal...not to mention the need of a few crowns. I know that I should be embarrassed and frankly I kind of am. I know better than to let myself get so far behind on basic preventative care...and now I remember why.

After searching for a tufted headboard for a long time and only finding velour, trendy specimens I found this on craig's list! First, it is difficult to find a full size anything in this day and age. Second, antiques are amazing! Third, this TUFTED, SILK, ANTIQUE AND ...FULL headboard was a measly $45!!! I can not explain how excited I am about it and it makes me wonder whom slept with this elegant headboard back in the day. This is not the end of my craig's list endeavors for the weekend... I am contemplating an amazing contemporary chair that I will most def post if I make another purchase.

This year we decorated for the new year...these ornaments totally remind me of my wedding...I could not resist!!!

So my mom broke my one and only champagne flute...so what did I get for Christmas? 19 new champagne flutes!! Really? Really! What does one do with 19 champagne flutes when your family is made up of two people? One of which doesn't even drink. You decorate for the New Year...that is what you do!

Our first family photo in front of the newly improved Wyoming homestead. We had to get ugly sweaters for the occasion, even the dogs. This house was a disaster prior to my dad doing all the work to renovate it, in fact he is still working on it. However, it is the cutest little abode and it makes simplicity so easy. This was a lovely Thanksgiving and I have so much to be grateful for...my husband, my family, and especially a job that is fulfilling and challenging!

P.S. Please don't notice how obscenely large I have gotten....I am aware!

If you ever are out and about in Salt Lake City, Utah the International Peace Gardens is a must see! It is kind of like Disney's Epcot Center with about one millionth of the budget. But it is a cute and nice park to wander around.

So this was my costume two years ago and it is kind of me representin' for the Heber folk...oh yeah, you CAN'T have a rodeo without a rodeo clown!

I served coffee all night dressed like this and loved every minute of it! Especially since my co-worker was dressed in drag and had 5" stilettos on all night! I can't deny the respect I have for that guy, I could never wear heels all day...and you would have to pay me money to serve coffee all night in heels!

This was the beginning of an attempt to make a swan costume...kind of looking at the Bjork dress for some inspiration. Let me just say...the headband was as far as I got! But it is a damned cute headband.

...just a note...the next post you can't miss...it is my first year teaching and I have my first yearbook photo...oh yeah...this can not be missed!

Zack and I invested in twin iphones and I have never been so excited about any electronic device in my life! I was worried that I would not be technologically advanced enough to use an iphone but I am getting along pretty well and I am in LOVE! It is so so awesome and worth every penny....I totally totally recommend it!

What a weekend!

So to update you on my husby...we went to his doctor appointment and his brain is looking awesome! That is what really matters! Plus all his physical symptoms are now gone...THANK GOD! REALLY...thank you God!

We went up to Wyoming overnight this weekend and this is what I did most of the time!
However, we did go to the Mountain Man Rendezvous and it was a blast! Tons of leather and pioneer looking people. Next year, I am for sure dressing up! I will post pics!

And a little more...ZZZZZZ! My principal keeps telling me that I am going to get the new teacher blues....I don't know about that...but I do know that I am tired!

So this is how my husband has to watch t.v. or read right now because he is having an episode with his MS....it is BULL! I have so many things to be thankful for and so many things that make me so angry about this situation. So here are just a few...
1- The unknown...
2- I know that the symptoms could be much worse so I am grateful that this is it this time.
3- I am not letting him drive to work and stuff since his perception is a bit off...and I know he doesn't want to give up this, and it will not be forever.
4- His yearly check-up fell at this exact time and so we should be able to see what his brain is really doing next week at his doctor's appointment which is nice.
5- The UnKnOwN...
6- We have been so lucky that he has not had an episode in over 5 years...and I just got a job so if anything drastic happens (which it won't) we will be just fine!
7- His not being able to skate is really hurting him and me...but his attitude is so amazing! He really shocks me!!! He will not let this win and that is the most humbling thing about this GREAT MAN!
And finally I have survived the first week of teaching, which has been kind of like my oasis this week. I can not tell you how happy I am to have this job it really is everything I wanted and needed!
I will update on my husby next week after his dr. appt. on Wednesday.

What I learned while in Wyoming...

#1 You can not sound out any of the town's names and think they will be correct. You may not even rely on your own knowledge of the English language. For example, my parents live outside of Kemmerer (why are there 2 sets of 'er's, I don't know) in a tiny town called Opal. Now I would pronounce this the same way as, "that is a beautiful opal ring." But, before I had ever gone up there my mom kept correcting me saying, "Ami, it is o'pal, like you are my ol'pal." I tested this when asked who I was visiting (because they knew I was not a local...which I am happy about) and I said my parents in Opal and I was instantly corrected.."oh you mean ol'pal?" Yeah, I guess I do and that is going to take some getting used to.
#2 It is totally legal and apparently preferred to have a restaurant in a tiny trailer on the side of the street or in the parking lot of your local Piggly Wiggly. I was surprised when I saw one of these tiny shops and in hysterics when I counted 4 or 5 more throughout the town. Don't you worry because you can get burgers, bbq, or mexican food without any fuss. Some of these restaurants even provide picnic tables out front. Just beware, if business isn't that great you may plan on your favorite dive for some food and it may be looking for a more prosperous location.
#3 Don't assume that the healthy, all too hyper, younger chihuahua will out hike the older, chubby, bohemian princess chihuahua. While hiking Trixie walked and trudged the entire trail, it was too cute. However, Max keep stopping in front of my feet and would not budge. This was his interpretation of throwing a tantrum, he was forcing me to pick him up and carry him down the hill! It was hilarious.

#4 When a restaurant is called "The Busy Bee" do not be surprised when you walk in and are surrounded with a total cow decor, not one bee in sight. I am not kidding, this little cafe probably had 100 little knick knack cows all over the place!

We bought this couch a couple of years ago at a consignment shop for like 50 bucks, it had awful disco spindle looking legs and black torn up pleather on it. I fell in love with the style and it is about 8 feet long. Yes, we have been using just like it was up until this point. I decided that since we were moving into a trailer park I was not going to have a ripped up trashy couch too! So now the reupholstering is all finished and I am in love! Bright blue micro suede with new contemporary legs...just plain beautiful!

Along with my reconstruction I have found that I am loving this little space we have and it is genuinely plenty. So when I saw this vinyl lettering in the store I thought, "I am doing just that and I am wanting for nothing." Thus the new mantra. Well, as I was putting it on the wall my husby comes bebopping into the kitchen and says, "Oh, live simply...what exactly is live simply?" With the pronunciation of live as in, 'the show you are watching is taped LIVE' He was joking and thus I got over the little comment. However, this story doesn't end here, a few days later my dad was here and he is all, "Live simply, I don't get it?" and if any of you knew my pops you would know that this was not the end of his banter about my new signage. Nope, it went on all day and he will probably mention it each time he visits.
So I had two options here. One: be psted about the situation, especially since my dad has an uncanny ability to get under my skin or, Two: Laugh about it?
Well, I chose to laugh...and yesterday as my mom and I were fixing things we kept laughing about our ability to LIVE simply!

I am not sure if I have introduced our new addition to the family...This is Trixie and she is Max's lover (well if he hadn't been fixed) but they are the best of pals and so cute with each other! I have been missing these two for so long, my dad took both of them to Wyoming a few weeks ago and they are loving life in their great big new yard. I would never want to make them come back to the cramped area we have here in the city, so I decided to go up and visit them this weekend. However, I did have the stipulation with my dad that I would not be doing any work while I was there! It was so nice...I will definitely spend as much time as possible in the little house in Opal, Wyoming. It is just so nice to slow down and enjoy the people, animals, and environment that happen to be surrounding you. Which is so easy in Wyoming!

I would never ever recommend moving the way that my family is doing such right now...Since we are moving to my parents and they are moving to another place it leaves me with two dirty places to clean. I have been working full time subbing for my site teacher and we just finished the school year today. I have to say it has been the most awesome experience and I am going to miss all my students so so much! I wish them all the best!
I am now moving into moving mode!! We will be moving to my mom's at the end of this month and my parents are moving to Wyoming. I hate moving! It is stressful and it is the only time I start feeling guilty about all the unnecessary stuff we have! Seriously, where is our simplicity?
So I am so stoked for summer this year...I have a few plans...nothing crazy! The summer of yoga is just beginning, I am excited to extend my practice as much as possible. The next most exciting thing for this sum is this...
...Yeah, my Tori is coming back to Utah and to the most amazing place to hear her voice!! I can not wait!

First, I have to thank my husband for being so supportive through out my student career! I would have never finished this without you honey and I will always be grateful to you. Now it is your turn to go to school and make all the money...jk No, but really I have to find a job first and that may take a bit.

This is on campus and since no other Broadhead has graduated from college I put my cap and gown on my dad. He deserves to be presented with this degree case. He was hilarious stating he even felt way smarter in the cap and gown!

This has been a long time coming and it is definitely worth celebrating!!

Thank you, Mom and Dad, you too have given me the support and encouragement to keep working even though this has taken me so long! I love you all!!!

(Something I can only imagine, being an only child and all) She told me a story of her brothers sitting on her curlers, which was a regular phenom, and FARTING on them!! I know, Crazy! Each day since my grandpa died I have been working in the dirt, not one time did I think about how much time I spent in my grandparents garden growing up. I have never done much in the garden before but pulling all the weeds in my parents garden has been nothing but pure therapy, and it didn't cost me a thing. I am now looking forward everyday to gardening, spending quiet time outside with my dog as he thinks that he is being so helpful by dragging weeds all over the rest of the yard.
I can not stop thinking about my grandpa. I am attaching some pictures from his funeral but I will not be commenting on them just yet.

So each time I watch 'Ratatouille' I think to myself~I am going to make that! So since I have been at home more and ignoring the pressing things that I need to be doing to get a job, I have finally made it! Note: There are numerous ways to make ratatouille but not one recipe looked like the recipe used in the pixar film...just FYI when you look at my dish and think...'this is not ratatouille.' I am excited to keep experimenting with this though because it is nutritious and delicious!

I ended my official last day of student teaching today with a shell. If any of you have read the childrens book called A House for Hermit Crab you know that the hermit crab grows out of his shell and has to find a new bigger shell to fit into. I read this book to each of my classes and ended by explaining that I have grown out of my shell at Northwest. I let them know that they have been the beautiful additions to my plain shell I entered Northwest with and that I would be leaving my shell with them. I then let each student pick a shell that I got for each one. It has been an emotional day; bittersweet and lovely. I am going to miss all of my amazing students for sure!
Our principal and assistant principal took me and the other student teacher to lunch today which was so nice of them to do for us and a little nerve racking. I now just need to get all my ducks in a row and FIND A JOB! This is a little scary since the economy is being so mean but I do know that I am meant to teach so I am going to be resilient and keep going until I find the perfect spot for me in a school.

I had to take a picture of my classroom crate, I am so proud of it! I have to say that I have been loving student teaching thus far but yesterday was the first day that I had this peaceful calm of belonging. For the past two weeks I have had complete control over my four classes and I have to admit I have been overwhelmed, I have been in survival mode and just going through the motions of what I need to complete and when. Yesterday was the first day that I began to think reflectively about what I need to be doing for my students and considering how to make myself better which in turn will better them. I have wondered my whole life what I would be when I grew up and I can officially say that this is it...but don't you dare go thinking that I have grown up!

I have been talking to an old friend today, someone who I haven't heard from in awhile and it got me thinking. Thinking about the person I am and all the roles I have taken on in my life, it has been fantastic thus far! This is me and my friend Joey, my old friend, whom I worked with while changing oil at Wal-Mart. He taught me everything I know about oil changing and tires. *Note: it is good to have some knowledge about cars I recommend it to every woman and man.
After talking to Joey this morning I have been informed that he has joined the Army National Guard and that makes me a little nervous. But maybe with our new amazing President I won't have to worry much about all our troops and war (fingers crossed). Joey however, wants to go super bad, and you would understand this desire if you knew him. I just worry for his loving wife and kids.
This picture is awful but I had to put it up. Yes, this is me gettin' my hands dirty. I also do have platinum blonde hair, which is another role I had to try out for a bit. However, I have to admit I don't think that blondes have more fun! I am glad I did this for awhile, I hate to admit that the reason I tried it was because a certain lame ass ex told me that I couldn't so I had to prove him wrong! I also have to brag a bit here, I was told that I did much better work than he (the ex) ever did while working there. Figures!

So here we go...I had to post the two great things I got this christmas. This quilt was given to Zack and I from Zack's step father's family...are you following? Anyway, this is our wedding quilt finished and on our bed, I just have to say I lovvvve it! We also got matching dressers...they look great and I feel like I am walking into a magazine when I walk in. I have never matched so much!
Moving on..I am so excited for 2009...so far so good! I am having a great amazing experience student teaching at Northwest Middle School. I will be starting my second week tomorrow and I have never been so sure that this is what I want to be when I grow up!! Rob Brezny has given me a fabulous horoscope for 2009...the gist is something like this....

So here we are, Thanksgiving-check, Black Friday-check...Time for the hustle and bustle? I don't think so, not this year. After a man was killed in NY while opening the door to Wal-Mart, I am not feeling much up to the Christmas spirit. I am trying though, I put up my Charlie Brown Christmas tree and our stockings hoping for a Christmas Jolt! It is kind of working...if anyone has any traditions that make them feel the spirit of Christmas let me know, I am ready to try anything.

I am grateful...for too many things to count but I will try...My husband, who humors me when I want to make ridiculous turkey rolls. My health and Zack's. Our families, I am lucky to have married into a family that is amazing. The opportunities in my life are amazing and I am grateful. After reading a friend's post I have come to a couple conclusions...
1) I am erasing dooce.com's blog. I will not be following her through her pregnancy. I do not need to have that in my face everyday from someone I do not even know in the flesh.
and
2) I am ready to lose some weight and I accept the fact that I have to be accountable to someone while doing so thus, I will be joining Weight Watchers...again. The only difference is this time I am not going to be embarrassed about it, obviously I am posting it this on my blog. I will however, try not to bore you all with this journey. I know it is not a topic that everyone likes to read about.

I finished my first lesson and was observed by my professor today! The biggest issue that I am having is remembering all the students' names. I even have been reminded that this one boy's name is not Clint but I am continuously calling him that. With only a few mishaps as I taught the immune system I decided to go to the liquor store and purchase some sake to celebrate. I found this bottle of Sofia Coppola's champagne that was way too cute to pass up. I have decided to keep it in my fridge until the day I get my first REAL teaching job! Here's to hoping it is really soon because I am going to be tempted to open it every time I open my fridge door.

Octoberfest!

October has deemed itself the most amazing in 2008! Numerous reasons have led up to this award! First I have to hand it to Zack for forcing me to be fully aware of the weather every single day. I mean one day earlier this month it snowed in our yard and it was stunning. I watched it in awe and Zack bitched the entire time about him not being ready. (This whole experience reminded me not so fondly of a time that I cried daily, "I'm not ready, I'm not ready." Mom, you know exactly what I am talking about.) From that day since Zack has reminded me that, "This is the last day!" Meaning, this is the last day before ole' man winter sweeps in and leaves no hint of our precious autumn in one swoop. Seriously, Zack is only using the windows for air conditioning even though we have a new car with an awesome air conditioner. I have to agree however, that everyday is a roller coaster this month. One day it is snowing, then hot, then it was a complete down pour. Of course, on that particular day I rode my bike to work and rode home completely drenched, it was crazy! Moving on...
Like the weather, each day has had events that are just as impacting. I have finally been placed at the school that I will be student teaching and it is amazing; Northwest Middle School on 1700 N Redwood Road in Salt Lake, extremely different from going to school in Wasatch County. I am excited about this and antsy pantsy too! I also am working with a teacher that has ended up being one of the most amazing people I have ever met, not just because of her teaching. I also am going to get the opportunity to see Body Worlds again as a chaperon for the class, I can not wait.
There have also been many life changing events happening to some friends from high school, these people are truly amazing and their strength amazes me. You know who you are, and I pray for you both!
My aunt and uncle also got into a motorcycle accident, they are going to be okay. Thank God. My family is really blessed! Things such as these make me slow down just a bit, change my attitude, and be thankful!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!!

Today is my mom's birthday and I wish her nothing but the best! I just have to thank you mom for being so supportive of me! You have no idea what a wonderful mother you are and you have always been! I love you mom and I am so impressed by you and your example for me, even though our personalities are so different but so alike as well.

Newly Wed and OVERFED!

I just laughed so hard when I heard this term on the Mike and Juliet show this morning. I couldn't believe how true! "NEWLY WED AND OVERFED!"
I guess I was warned about such things happening after marriage and I have in fact blogged about it before, but once was obviously not enough. Not only because I need to blog about it again but because of the situations that I have experienced this week.
1. I am cooking breakfast and putting some stuff back in the oven when my big tummy gets burned on the oven door... what the...and I was really really burned.
2. Zack and I go to an amazing place called Moriarty's Antiques and Curiosities. I guess the name explains well enough what is in the store. But I found an old cookbook that I had to buy called Have Cookbook Will Marry, I have never been so domestic in my life but it is something I was itching for.
There is a silver lining to this blog though. I just want everyone to know if you are in the Salt Lake Valley a friend of mine from Heber is starting to teach Yoga in Sugarhouse. An amazing person that everyone can learn from and practice with! I will update my blog when I know more about it.

Almost a grown up...

So I am in the process of narrowing down my choices of where I will be doing my student teaching and I need some advice from all my momma friends out there. I really want to know from all of you what you expect from a teacher. I know that all of your children are way younger than the age I will be teaching but someday they will be in middle school. I am way interested in my passion of teaching from the perspective from a parent so will "ya'll" enlighten me??
